Get your home and property winter ready with i-Protech

(As published in Energy Voice, December 2022)

As winter closes in and the dark nights get longer, now is the time to think about securing your home and property.

In recent weeks, Kintore-based home security experts i-Protech has experienced a big upsurge in the number of customers requesting security systems throughout the North-east.

An accredited installer of CCTV systems, i-Protech provides a wide range of solutions from three-camera systems to PTZ (pan tilt zoom) cameras, which are very popular with commercial clients.

Michael Loszak, Supervisory Engineer, said: “We have had a large volume of enquiries this month due to homes being targeted by intruders and opportunists, with doors being tried and people generally hanging around acting suspiciously. Understandably, this makes people nervous, and they are looking for ways to help protect their homes and property.

“One of our most popular products is the CCTV system manufactured by HikVision, as they offer an app which allows monitoring of your property whether you are home or away. They can also be easily upgraded to include microphones, tannoys, beam detectors, thermal imaging, and covert surveillance.

“In terms of intruder equipment, we generally use HKC Security systems, which offer an impressive range of wireless kits, minimising the need for running cables. We can also upgrade existing systems regardless of manufacturers.”

During the pandemic, many households invested in garden offices and summer houses, some of which will contain valuable equipment. For added protection, Michael recommends a camera covering the garden itself to catch any potential trespassing, as well as a camera in the garden office.

He explained: “These can be set up with alerts that would pick up movement in these areas. These can then be monitored by a third party if need be. We could also fit a standalone wireless alarm system.”

i-Protech is always on the look out for new technologies to add to its portfolio. As a Paxton access control-approved installer, they are particularly impressed with the Paxton 10, which offers a lot of flexibility. The system allows access to be granted online to the individual which can be customised to restrict access to sensitive areas of a building. The system also supports smartphone, watch and traditional card access.

If you are considering the investment, Michael and the team at i-Protech are always willing to offer advice, check homes for security weaknesses, and install burglar alarms and security cameras if needed.
