Michael Loszak, Supervisory Engineer, is responsible for fire awareness training for i-Protech, delivering courses and fire testing to companies across the North-east. He has been using and demonstrating Firexo – an all-in-one system that is designed to extinguish any type of fire without the need for multiple extinguishers – for many years.

Here he explains more about Firexo, and what sets it apart from other extinguisher systems.

How long has i-Protech been supplying Firexo systems?

We have supplied them since April 2021, though I have been working with them since they were first launched in 2019.

 What is different about them?

Designed to help protect any premises, from homes to workplaces, Firexo is an all-fires solution which can extinguish any type of fire, from electrical and metal fires to those caused by flammable liquids, combustible materials, and gasses. There is no wrong application for the extinguishers. They also work much quicker than water and have been shown to extinguish a fire in a car in under a minute, which makes them useful for a range of uses.

What kind of training does i-Protech offer companies?

We can offer a variety of courses, but the most popular is our fire warden training, which includes both practical and theory training. We also offer fire awareness, practical use of extinguishers and fire warden training. All of this can be delivered either on-site at the client’s workplace, or at our facility in Kintore.

Do you have a special team trained to use and demonstrate?

I am the trainer for i-Protech. I have five years’ experience in delivering fire courses, and I am also trained in the maintenance of extinguishers as per British standards. This gives an added level of safety to the courses as I can spot any potential issues with the extinguishers.

Are their cost savings by using Firexo?

The extinguishers are roughly the same price as a foam and CO2 set that you would normally see in a business premises. The advantage is that servicing costs will be reduced due to having one extinguisher instead of two.

Did you have special accreditation?

The extinguishers are manufactured to BS5306 and have many more international accreditations including the CE mark and the European EN3 Standard.
