Aberdeenshire-based i-Protech Technology Ltd is now a certified installer of the Powerwall, which was developed specifically for residential properties. Stuart Munro, i-Protech Managing Director, explains what makes the Tesla Energy Powerwall special and why you should be considering getting one installed in your home.
What is the Tesla Energy Powerwall?
The Tesla Energy Powerwall is a battery that provides back-up protection by storing energy, detecting power outages, and automatically becoming your home’s energy source if the grid goes down.
How does it work?
The battery is charged using the electricity generated from solar PV panels, allowing it to power everything in your home from appliances to electric vehicles. Excess energy is stored for use during the night or for 24/7 backup protection during an outage.
Can any home have a Powerwall?
The Powerwall is easily installed, requires no maintenance, and has a completely automated system which means it can be fitted into any home. It is very compact and simple.
Can I charge my electric vehicle using the Powerwall?
Yes, you can charge your electric cars at home with multiple power settings and up to 71km of range per hour.
Is it possible to see how much energy I am using in my home?
The Tesla App allows you to monitor energy production and consumption in real time, letting you optimise your system and save money.
