Position: Solar Co-ordinator
Location: Westhill, Aberdeenshire

Due to continued growth within our renewables division, we are looking for a Solar Co-ordinator – Electrical and Renewables to join our team in Westhill.
This is a varied technical and customer-facing role covering solar PV and battery quotations, customer meetings, project co-ordination, DNO applications, MCS documentation and project handover.
The position would suit someone with a good understanding of electrical installations, solar PV or renewable technologies. It could also be an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrician looking to move away from full-time site work while continuing to use their technical knowledge within the electrical and renewables industry.
You will work with customers from their initial enquiry through quotation, design, installation, commissioning and final handover.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The role will include:
- Meeting customers to discuss solar PV, battery storage and EV charging requirements
- Carrying out or assisting with site surveys
- Reviewing customer requirements and preparing suitable system proposals and quotations
- Assisting with solar PV and battery system design
- Assessing existing electrical installations, consumer units, metering arrangements, supplies and proposed equipment locations
- Liaising with customers throughout the quotation and installation process
- Co-ordinating projects from initial enquiry through to installation and completion
- Preparing and submitting DNO applications, including G98 and G99 applications
- Preparing and managing MCS, RECC and project documentation
- Liaising with installers, suppliers, manufacturers and the wider i-Protech team
- Ordering equipment and co-ordinating deliveries and installation dates
- Ensuring project information, surveys, correspondence and documentation are accurately recorded
- Monitoring outstanding actions and ensuring projects continue to progress
- Preparing customer handover packs and ensuring all relevant certification and information is provided
- Assisting with manufacturer registrations and warranty documentation
- Providing customers with regular project updates
- Supporting installation teams with technical and project information where required
- Ensuring projects are delivered to the technical, compliance and customer-service standards expected by i-Protech
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for someone who is technically minded, organised and confident dealing directly with customers.
Ideally, you will have:
- Experience within electrical contracting, solar PV, battery storage or renewable energy
- A good understanding of electrical installations
- Strong communication and customer-service skills
- The ability to understand customer requirements and develop suitable technical proposals
- Good organisational and administrative skills
- Confidence managing several projects at different stages
- Good computer skills and attention to detail
- The ability to work independently and as part of a wider team
- A proactive approach to following projects through to completion
- A full UK driving licence
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE
Experience or qualifications in any of the following would be advantageous:
- Electrical qualifications
- Solar PV systems
- Battery storage
- EV charging
- Renewable-energy technologies
- Electrical contracting
- DNO applications
- MCS or RECC documentation
- Project co-ordination or technical customer support
Applicants with strong relevant technical or renewable-energy experience will also be considered.
THE TYPE OF PERSON WE’RE LOOKING FOR
This role would particularly suit someone who is technically capable, well organised and comfortable dealing directly with customers.
You should be confident managing several projects at different stages, keeping customers informed and making sure technical information and documentation are accurate and complete.
The position may be especially attractive to an experienced electrician who wants to come off the tools and move into a technical, commercial and project co-ordination role while continuing to use their electrical knowledge.
