Not all solar panel systems have to be installed on traditional pitched roofs, as one of our more recent jobs shows.
This impressive modular system was installed on a client’s home in Banchory Devenick, where there was insufficient space for a ground mount structure. The large, flat roof space of the house was perfect for this design and layout, which can be upscaled to any size.
The flat roof option can be used on any property where the more commonly used pitched roof panel mounting is not possible or space is limited. It is not fixed to the roof itself, so there are no holes; instead, the system is weighted down, and calculations are done to ensure it doesn’t move, even during storm force winds.
The family has already reaped the benefits of their new solar system, which includes a storage battery. With a couple of electric vehicles, they can now charge for free as well as vastly reducing household energy bills and have been saving money from the moment it was switched on.
